Forging New Relationships

The CLM’s new status as a non-profit organization provides more opportunities to collaborate.

The CLM’s new status as a non-profit organization provides more opportunities to collaborate with other organizations for the benefit of our membership and the industry. I’m excited to announce that the CLM has joined the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud as one of our first initiatives.

The Coalition is national alliance of insurers, government agencies, and consumer organizations dedicated to combating all forms of insurance fraud through advocacy, public education, and research. As part of our relationship, many of the Coalition’s resources are available to the CLM membership. One resource that you may see over the coming months are expert speakers and authors from the Coalition contributing to CLM events and publications.

Of course, as an affiliate of The Institutes we have access to their resources and expertise, as well. The Associate in Claims (AIC) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations are among the many designations The Institutes offers that many CLM Fellows have already attained. Other affiliates of The Institutes include the CPCU Society, Insurance Research Council (IRC), and the International Insurance Society (IIS). Over time, we’ll be exploring synergies with all the affiliates to ensure we are best serving the CLM membership.

It’s an exciting time at the CLM, and I’m thrilled to be able to share these updates with you. We’ll be working to create connections with other industry organizations over the coming months. We’re also working to foster engagement among young professionals in our industry. Stay tuned for exciting things to come in 2019!
