Has the Insurance Industry Diversified Its Leadership?

Learn how CLM CEO Ronna Ruppelt thinks the industry has changed over the decades for women since she first entered the world of insurance, and why the work isn’t quite done yet. Insurance Business magazine sat down with Ruppelt to ascertain her thoughts on the industry and how it’s doing with lifting up women. Ruppelt comes from the birds-eye seat of having been a woman entering the industry decades ago and seeing the changes that have occurred as well as knowing where change is still needed.

Besides her “woman in insurance” viewpoint, Ruppelt shares her thoughts on how leadership skill building needs to be actionable as developing those skills in a vacuum doesn’t allow for them to be put into practice. She also points out that reverse mentorship is a valuable tool as a newer demographic enters the workforce. One can learn much from those with a different perspective and we need to be open to that. Read the full article and get a glimpse into Ruppelt’s thinking from a decades-long career.

CLM Magazine will kick off Women’s History Month with its March editionwhere it will celebrate women in insurance in departments throughout the issue.
