Please join the new Austin-San Antonio Chapter for an educational seminar regarding the fast evolving world of cyber liability and data theft.  Our presentation will walk through a cyber-breach from start to finish, including addressing social media to control public relations through a legal analysis of the current authority regarding the various rulings from jurisdictions across the country with regard to cyber claims made under traditional CGL policies. The presentation will also address that the vast majority of claims have been focused on healthcare, financial institutions and retail – where the exposure is having care, custody and control of third-party PII (personal identifiable information) or PHI (personal health information). The presentation will discuss examples of cases and claims involving large data breaches, such as Neiman Marcus, Target and Michaels Stores, which are still being litigated.  The presentation will also include Texas notification laws regarding cyber breaches and data theft.
