This course will address current trends in the world of employment law, including litigation statistics, increased filings and trends with the EEOC and in federal court, and updates on key legal issues relating to pregnancy discrimination, the affordable care act, DOMA related decisions and jury trends that have been documented. This course also will address advanced litigation techniques to be implemented in EPL cases, including handling the EEOC process with an eye towards early mediation, traditionally under used tools such as early motions to dismiss, motions for a more definite statement, and requests for admission, proper and timely evaluation of cases and ESI issues in particular, and evaluation for summary judgment and trial purposes.
