Frank Smith

Biography

Frank Smith began his insurance career with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in March, 1987. After completing claims training, he served as an adjuster, Senior Adjuster and Supervisor within Liberty Mutual offices in New York, Chicago and Des Plaines, Illinois. Areas of specialization included, Workers Compensation, General Liability, Auto Liability, Illinois Structural Work Act and New York Labor Law.In December of 1992, Frank joined Reliance National Insurance Company, New York, as a Claims Account Manager. He served in that role, and advanced to the position of Vice President. He was charged with leading a team that provided claims oversight on the largest account within Reliance National, the ARAMARK Corporation.

In March of 2000, Frank joined Kemper Insurance Company in Philadelphia, as the Vice President of Claims. He continued to manage the ARAMARK account through their transition to Kemper.In October of 2004, Frank joined XL insurance Company. He holds the position of Vice President – Head of US Risk Management and Program Claims. His responsibilities include management of these books of business, as well as all unbundled TPA relationships. He has developed the XL management approach to TPA’s, and has helped implement these principles across the globe in all areas where XL conducts business.

He has spoken at numerous industry events on topics relating to Claims Management , TPA Management and Medical Management. He has also authored several articles on these subjects.Frank holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from St, John’s University in New York. He resides in New York City.
