CFMA AGC ABCScott R. Whiteside is Executive Vice President of Gallagher Construction Services in San Francisco. Gallagher Construction Services, part of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., is dedicated solely to serving the insurance, surety and risk management needs of the construction and real estate industry throughout the United States.
Mr. Whiteside specializes in designing both Owner Controlled and Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs for public and private projects. He manages Gallagher's National Wrap-up practice group. He currently manages one of the largest Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs in the country. In addition to wrap-ups, Whiteside specializes in risk management programs for general contractors, subcontractors, home builders, developers and architects and engineers. He has also provided expert testimony in construction insurance claims involving large property losses and complex liability issues.
Whiteside began his insurance career in 1973 as an adjuster for a national insurance company. In 1982, he was appointed Technical Services Manager for the San Francisco office of Willis Corroon. He was a founding partner in 1992 of Lamberson Koster & Company, a San Francisco based construction broker, which was acquired by Gallagher in 1996. Scott helped create the National Wrap-up practice for Gallagher and under his leadership in the past 15 years, the team has placed wrap-ups on over $15 Billion in project values.
Whiteside is a sought after speaker on the topic of wrap-ups and insurance programs for contractors. His speaking engagements include RIMS, National Women in Construction, International Risk Management Institute [IRMI], West Coast Casualty Construction Defect Seminar, the Hospitality Law Conference, the Institute for International Research [IIR], and the Construction SuperConference.
