Background and Experience
Ms. Cohen began practicing in the areas of first and third party insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. In addition, she has defended insured's in a variety of actions ranging from premises liability to construction defect.
Ms. Cohen has prepared numerous cases for trial and has prevailed in several jury and court trials. She has argued and won many motions for summary judgment, including those dealing with complex coverage issues. In addition, she has researched, drafted and argued several cases in the Court of Appeal, including Rosenbloom v. Hanour Corp., (1998) 66 Cal.App.4th 1477, Travelers v. Transcontinental (2004) 122 Cal.App.4th 949, Parkwoods Community Association v. California Insurance Guarantee Association (2006) 141 Cal.App.4th 1362, and Fort Bragg Unified School District v. Solano County Roofing Inc. (2011) 141 Cal.App.4th 891.
Ms. Cohen has been named a Southern California Super Lawyer by Law & Politics Magazine several years in a row.
Ms. Cohen has taught paralegal students at the University of California, Irvine in the areas of legal ethics and legal writing. She also developed a course in insurance law that she taught for several years.
Ms. Cohen has been a lecturer at the Complex Civil Litigation Workshop for California Judges, and has also been a guest speaker at the MC Consultants Construction Defect Seminar, DRI Construction Defect Seminar, HB Litigation, Construction Defect Seminar, and West Coast Casualty's Annual Construction Defect Seminar.
Ms. Cohen is currently a member of the California State Bar and the Orange County Bar Association. In addition, she has participated in the Santa Ana Stay In School Program, and is on the executive committee and is the President Elect of the William P. Gray Inn of Court. She is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
