Derrick Mullen is a Vice President and Litigation Manager with the responsibility for handling complex and high exposure litigated claims involving major coverage issues, coordinating mediation days, manages a plaintiff doctors spreadsheet as well as monitoring defense and coverage counsel at Seneca Insurance Company, Inc. Since 1991, he has also worked for Hartford Insurance Company and Crum & Forster Insurance Company as an inside claims representative and an auto claims supervisor. Derrick gained a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Engineering at Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. In his current role, Derrick specializes in commercial general liability insurance claims, as well as first party property litigation filed against the company. Derrick’s success in this area is supported by excellent negotiation and communication skills, high claim technical ability, leadership, organizational skills combined with a special interest in coverage, habitability, products defect as well as construction defect claims. Derrick also carries an insurance adjusting license in 17-States and has a designation as a Master Certified Special Arbitrator (MCSA) as well as a Advanced Claims Professional (ACP) designation. Derrick lives in Ozone Park, New York with his cat named Kobe. When not working, Derrick likes to watch movies, spend time with his two adult daughters, attend sporting events, workout, travel and dine at fine restaurants.
