Ginger has practiced in Burr & Forman's Litigation and Labor and Employment Law sections for 20 years. She has chaired several practice groups and served as the Head of the Firm's Litigation Section. Ginger also served on the Firm's Executive Committee.
Ginger regularly handles insurance and commercial disputes including defending class action litigation for several insurance clients, manufacturers and cable companies. She is very knowledgeable about bad faith insurance, reinsurance and regulatory matters. She also specializes in a number of product liability design areas, including defending fire cases nationwide for several clients. Ginger also has extensive experience with railroad and labor and employment matters including trying numerous Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) and Title VII cases. Ginger currently serves as National Counsel for a product manufacturer and Regional Counsel for both a health insurance company and another product manufacturer.
Ginger is the Chair of the Section Officers Conference of the American Bar Association and the immediate past Chair of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) of the American Bar Association. She previously served as Chair-Elect and Vice Chair, as well as, Secretary and Diversity Officer for TIPS. She has been a member of the TIPS Council for 6 years. In addition, Ginger served as the Director of the National Trial Academy which is held every year in Reno, Nevada. She remains a member of the board. Ginger has also taught at several other Trial Academies. She was selected for inclusion in the Alabama Super Lawyers and the Top 25 Women Lawyers in Alabama listings in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Ginger currently serves as a board member for ALI-ABA and has served on several other ABA Committees. She is very active in other local organizations. Ginger served as President of the Homewood, Alabama City Council from 2000 to 2008, and is a member of Leadership Birmingham.
Ginger has authored several articles related to trial practice and tips for young lawyers and speaks regularly on various trial and leadership topics.
Ginger earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law, and received her B.A. from the University of Alabama. During law school, she was articles editor of the Cumberland Law Review, an oralist on the National Moot Court Team and a member of both the Order of Barristers and Curia Honoris. Prior to law school, Ginger was employed in the communications field and also worked for the Leukemia Society of America.
