Biography

Mr. Tittmann recently started his own law firm with Louisa Weix, on the front edge of the pandemic, dedicated to insurance coverage. While he has historically specialized in complex insurance litigation, his clients have come more frequently to retain him pre-litigation when a coverage dispute is anticipated, and he is typically able to resolve these matters effectively on the front end.  But he is always prepared for challenging battles in court when necessary.  Law360 recently named him MVP of the Year for 2019 in the field of insurance for several significant coverage wins in several high-profile, high-stakes litigation.

Of current note, Mr. Tittmann is representing a "global insurance giant" in significant litigation against its agent for underwriting risks in violation of the guidelines in the contract.  See https://www.law360.com/insurance-authority/articles/1428122

He also recently handled a primary v. excess insurance battle for the London Market involving a $64 million judgment against a partner from a large national law firm (now defunct), generating new law in the area of an excess carrier's right to challenge underlying exhaustion.

Ray maintains an especially active practice in Gig Economy coverage disputes. He advises the insurance market leader for food-delivery platforms, an industry that is doubling annually and expected to reach $192 billion by 2025. He assists with policy drafting and provides strategic analysis on significant claims nationwide.
