Biography

Cori Flam Meltzer, Esq. is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court Mediator and the Principal Mediator of CFM Mediation, L.L.C., a full-service mediation firm serving clients in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. Her primary mission is to give parties a voice so they can determine their own fate and reach a mutually­ agreeable resolution to their problems. Ms. Meltzer is committed to ensuring that her clients' voices are heard and to empowering them so they can settle their disputes.Ms. Meltzer is a graduate of Harvard University and Columbia Law School, where she was a Senior Editor of the Columbia Law Review. After law school, Ms. Meltzer served as a law clerk for Hon. Maryanne Trump Barry with the U.S. District Court in the District of New Jersey. Thereafter,she worked as a commercial litigator in the Washington, D.C. office of Hogan & Hartson, L.L.C. Ms. Meltzer left Hogan & Hartson to become a Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary, where she specialized in the areas of antitrust, technology, reproductive rights, and violence against women.Prior to founding CFM Mediation in South Florida, Ms. Meltzer was the Editor and Business Manager for best-selling author, Brad Meltzer. She was also actively involved with voter protection issues throughout the State of Florida. Additionally, she is one of the founders of and Vice-Chair of the Board of City Year Miami, a non-profit AmeriCorps program that unites a diverse group of young adults for a year of tutoring, mentoring, and leadership in some of Miami's most challenging public schools.  She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Broward Community Foundation.Ms. Meltzer mediates all types of civil commercial disputes but has focused on matters in the areas of employment law, premises liability, worker's compensation, contractual disputes, insurance coverage, and others.  She is a frequent lecturer and is certified to provide CLE credit on mediation and negotiation strategies.
