Biography

Ayana is an Assistant Vice President in the Professional Lines Claims Department of Allied World Assurance Co., Ltd. (Bermuda). Ayana‘s responsibilities include the strategic handling and resolution of high-severity complex claims noticed under various primary and excess professional liability policies (including Directors and Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Errors & Omissions, Cyber and Fiduciary) in addition to any related coverage disputes. Ayana also serves as a valuable resource for her company’s underwriters and advises them on market and claims trends.

Prior to joining Allied World, Ayana practiced insurance law at a large New York law firm. There she primarily represented and advised primary and excess professional liability insurers on complex professional liability issues. Ayana is admitted to practice law in both New York and New Jersey.

Ayana obtained her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law – Newark (with honors). During law school, Ayana served as a managing editor of The Rutgers Law Review and President of the Association of Black Law Students. Ayana also holds a Registered Professional Liability Underwriting Society (RPLU) designation and also serves on the Executive Board of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM) - Bermuda.
