Erik Barber

Biography

Erik Barber is a liability claims manager at Argonaut Insurance where his business group insures retail establishments nationwide with the primary focus on independent grocery stores.  His team handles liability claims for the western US by taking great effort on being proactive with their investigations leading to prompt, justified liability decisions. Mr. Barber began his illustrious insurance career with Grocers Insurance in the accounting department before realizing the real fun was in the claims arena. Like so many other insurance companies, Grocers has been sold several times before being wisely purchased by the Argonaut Group in 2004. For 22 years Mr. Barber has successfully helped his insured’s resolve claims in aggressive, cost effective fashion.Mr. Barber graduated from Oregon State University in 1991 with a degree in Finance and a minor in Economics. His formal insurance education consists of obtaining his CPCU, ARe, ARM, AIC, AU, and AIS. When not in the office, you’ll find Mr. Barber outdoors bow hunting for elk/ deer or plying the waters for anadromous fish near his home in Portland, OR.
