Steve Lokus

Biography

Hartford Insurance Global Specialty is an international commercial property & casualty specialty insurance company. Mr. Lokus is the Assistant Vice President, Construction Claims for Primary Casualty / Excess claims division, which handles all of the construction claims within Global Specialty nationwide. He has handled and managed various claims including large commercial general liability claims on a primary and excess layer, including claims within large SIRs and wrap policies with a focus on coverage, liability, risk transfer and litigation management for over 20 years. Prior to Hartford, Mr. Lokus was a Claims Supervisor at Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company and Branch Manager for West Coast Casualty Service, Inc. He has been a speaker at several seminars, including, but not limited to: West Coast Casualty Construction Defect Seminar, CLM Annual, CLM Construction Seminar, Perrin Conferences, DRI and IRMI. He acted as the secretary of the Construction Defect Claim Managers Association, is an instructor of IRMI's Risk Management Boot Camp, is a member of the CLM Construction Claims Advisory Board, is co-chair for the Perrin Conference's National Construction Defect conference and is the co-Dean (as well as an instructor) for the CLM Claims College - School of Construction.
