Biography

Lea Kapral is a General Manager with Acuity, A Mutual Insurance Company currently overseeing multi-line claims operations across our operating states. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, with a Bachelor of Science in English.  Lea holds her Casualty Claim Law Associate (CCLA) designation through the American Educational Institute, Inc. and obtained her Mid-Management Development Certificate through the UW Madison Executive Education School of Business.

Throughout her 26 years in the P&C industry, Lea has worked with adjusters and counsel to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate a variety of complex personal and commercial litigation cases.   She has worked on projects within Acuity promoting Litigation Management, Legal Bill Review, and has presented claims training on Large Loss Investigation as well as Alternative Dispute Resolution.  Lea has participated in Strategic Initiative Groups, Customer Service Project Teams, as well as provided expert input to Acuity's Policy Forms Committee.

Lea is active in the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance as a Member of the Insurance Coverage Committee, Committee Conference Committee Member, Publication Magazine Committee Member, and served for many years as a Co-Chair of the Transportation Committee as well as the Insurance Committee.  She also served as Co-Dean of the Claims College School of Transportation.

Lea resides in Chilton, WI with her husband and two sons, where she is an active member of the Chilton Athletic Club as well as a former advisory member of the Chilton Area Catholic School Board of Education.  She serves as Treasurer Trustee of Good Shepherd Parish in Chilton.
