Biography

For the last six years, Steve has managed bad faith litigation in California, Florida, and throughout the country. Steve’s management has included personal lines cases to large commercial cases arising out of catastrophic weather events. He has spoken on bad faith issues in Atlanta, Chicago, Nashville and Connecticut for DRI, CLM, and ExecuSummit. He spoke at the 2017 CLM Annual Conference on the Duty to Initiate Settlement Discussions Without a Demand.

Prior to joining Nationwide, Steve was a trial lawyer for a Columbus, Ohio law firm, where he had a state-wide practice representing insurers and policy holders in insurance and tort litigation. Steve was part of a team that handled “Pontzer” litigation throughout the State of Ohio, and, was also a successful attorney defending municipalities and other political subdivisions in tort litigation and civil rights cases.  Steve became an AV rated lawyer in his eighth year of practice, and spoke regularly throughout the State of Ohio on insurance coverage issues, tort liability, and municipal liability.
