Biography

~As head of an expanding team of more than 250 professionals across the nation, Brett Douglas brings his dedication, energetic leadership and extensive management experience to building a winning culture of excellence to G4S and its clients. Douglas, Vice President of Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and the Western Region, serves as a pivotal member of the global management team. He is responsible for leading the Western Region and SIU Division while fostering close working relationships with operations and sales and to ensure G4S solutions are aligned with client needs and market demand. He has been instrumental in leading G4S’ evolution as a provider of fraud fighting solutions that deliver the benefits of strategic game planning and quality investigations aimed at making clients an unattractive target to those seeking unjust gains through fraud and abuse. Douglas established G4S’ Investigation Consulting Program to successfully bring together adjusters and expert investigators to provide guidance to clients regarding fraud mitigation strategies and the business impact of current and future trends and schemes. He works cohesively with clients to design and implement successful proactive fraud mitigation programs which have resulted in more than 255 Arrests, 165 Convictions and over $4.1 million in criminal restitution. Under his leadership and direction G4S’ SIU team has received numerous accolades for proactive fraud fighting. As a member of the global leadership team, Douglas is instrumental in leading a number of key initiatives to facilitate strategic partnerships and customized programs for G4S clients. Douglas led the effort to develop the company’s breakthrough Absence Management/Leave of Absence Investigation Program that is redefining the FMLA investigation marketplace.Douglas is a nationally recognized speaker. He has conducted numerous lectures and seminars for the insurance and investigation industry, law enforcement and private security communities throughout the US. He is an accredited instructor, author and speaker in the arena of Special Investigations and Anti-Fraud Awareness.Prior to joining G4S in 2010, Douglas had 20 years’ of experience in the investigations industry, spanning operations, consulting and sales across North America; he is responsible for delivering consistent work product while driving the organization’s SIU growth strategy.A graduate of California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a concentration in Investigations, Douglas is a devoted supporter of the university. Throughout his career he has conducted insurance anti-fraud training for various TPAs, carriers and self-insured organizations across the nation, as well as instructor for the NICB SIU Academy.Douglas is a distinguished member of or holds key titles in the following organizations: Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) – Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI) – IASIU Northern California Fraud Investigator’s Association (NCFIA) California Licensed Private Investigator Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals
