Setara is a partner at Ferguson, Frost, Moore & Young, LLP. She has worked in the legal industry since she was 19 years old, when she started as a paralegal in Dallas, Texas. Setara's practice includes catastrophic injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, products liability, and commercial transportation claims in state and federal courts. She has tried multiple high-exposure suits to verdict. Setara is a passionate defense advocate, and works to achieve favorable and fair outcomes for her clients--a stark contrast to the culture of windfall verdicts in today's courtrooms.
Setara is a National Black Lawyers' Top 40 Under 40 Lawyer and has also spoken nationally about emerging legal issues in commercial transportation and wearable technology. During law school, Setara was a member of the National Trial Team, where she advocated in six national competitions, and won the 2011 Tournament of Champions. She continues to serve as an assistant coach Cumberland's trial team. Setara was also named to the Dean's List 200-2012, served as an Honor Court Justice, and was the Scholar of Merit in Constitutional Law, Advanced Evidence, and Advanced Trial Skills.
Before law school, Setara received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Texas at Dallas. At UTD, she was president of the Sigma Kappa Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., president of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and Student Government Senator. She also worked as a paralegal assisting in family, IP, and oil & gas disputes.
Setara grew up in Barrett Station, Texas. Outside of work, Setara enjoys spending time with her husband, Darius, and their dog, Bronko. A self-described "foodie," Setara tries to spend her weekends in new places with good wine and great friends. Setara is a member of the Alabama Bar Association, MCBA, Birmingham Bar Association, ADLA, CLM, and Women Business Leaders Executive Board.
