Rich Mastronardo is the Complex Claim Officer for the Casualty Practice Tower for Chubb North America Claims, and has been in this role since January 2017 after joining Chubb in 2008 and serving in a number of senior claim leadership roles.
Prior to joining Chubb, Rich spent almost 9 years with AIG in a variety of roles, the last 5 of which being Worldwide Head of Claims for AIG Cat Excess Liability (formerly known as Starr Excess Liability) responsible for all Casualty and Professional Lines claims activity. Prior to joining AIG, Rich was responsible for all litigation in the New York metropolitan area for all liability lines for regional insurer Utica Mutual.
Rich has claim technical and managerial experience in the following lines of business: Casualty, Environmental, E&O, D&O, EPL, Property, and Workers Compensation. Throughout his claims career, Rich has had an emphasis on complex, high exposure matters, and was the lead negotiator representing the insurance tower on one of the largest security class action claims ever filed emanating from the collapse of Enron, as well as the head of the insurance tower steering committee on a fire loss outside of London with over $2B in damages. Prior to commencing his insurance career almost 30 years ago, Rich was a licensed Financial Consultant with experience in sales and marketing, as well as an understanding of money and the financial markets.
A graduate of Touro Law School in 1999, Rich is a licensed attorney admitted to the New York State Bar.
