Biography

Jaime Baca is a shareholder in Wicker Smith’s Miami office and focuses his practice on liability defense handling all variety of negligence cases. Since 1987, when he obtained his General Lines Insurance Agent license, Mr. Baca has worked as a commercial and personal lines insurance broker, an underwriter, a claims adjuster, and an insurance law instructor. He has tried over 125 serious injury cases throughout the state and is admitted to practice in all Florida State and Federal Courts. More recently Mr. Baca has been focusing his practice in the defense of “unnecessary” surgeries performed under letters of protection (doctor’s liens) including spinal an joint surgeries, disc replacements, laminectomies and fusions. With great success he has taken the lead in trying these cases and educating juries while obtaining great settlements and verdicts for his clients.
 
Mr. Baca attended St. Thomas School of Law in Miami where he graduated Cum Laude in 1997. Mr. Baca's undergraduate studies were completed at Florida International University, where he obtained his B.A. in Business Administration in 1992. He also obtained the degree of Masters of Science in Finance in 1994 and holds a CPCU insurance designation. Mr. Baca is AV Preeminent® rated by Martindale-Hubbell and a member of ABOTA which recognizes outstanding trial lawyers in all 50 states.
