Gary Schmidt

Biography

GARY SCHMIDT currently serves as Vice President, Professional Liability Claims at Aspen Specialty Insurance.  At Aspen, Mr. Schmidt oversees professional liability claims involving securities broker dealers, registered representatives, registered investment advisors, life insurance agents, property and casualty agents, mortgage bankers and brokers and other miscellaneous professionals.  Prior to joining Aspen, Mr. Schmidt was the Interim Director of Professional Programs claims at Zurich American Insurance Company where he managed teams of claims professionals handling claims relating to lawyers, accountants, veterinarians, real estate professionals and other miscellaneous professionals.  Prior to joining Zurich, he was a compliance officer at New York Life Insurance Company and in private practice.  He has over 18 years of industry experience including 14 years of experience handling and supervising professional liability claims.  Mr. Schmidt is an attorney admitted to practice in Massachusetts.  He received his B.A. degree from Hofstra University and his J. D. degree from Western New England University, School of Law.  Mr. Schmidt is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.
