Dr. Brittany Giel

Biography

Dr. Brittany Giel is a Virtual Design and Construction Engineer at the Whiting- Turner Contracting Company, where she is responsible for the development of a company-wide training program used to educate project team members in Virtual Design and Construction standard processes and software applications.
Dr. Giel has authored more than 16 publications in various journals and conference proceedings on the subject of Building Information modeling. In addition to experience with various computer aided software, she has utilized BIM as a tool for pre-construction, estimating and construction conflict detection.  While at the University of Florida, Dr. Giel also contributed greatly to the development of a revised curriculum on BIM and construction technologies at the M.E. Rinker Sr. School of Construction Management.
She is an active member of the Building Smart Alliance (bSa), Sigma Lambda Chi Honor Society and was the recipient of the Rinker Alumni Doctoral Fellowship.
Dr. Giel brings to the panel an excellent blend of virtual design and construction experience as it applies to real world situations.
