Biography

Mr. Kochman is the newest addition to the management team with over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, specializing in Workers’ Compensation and Property & Casualty insurance.  Within his role, Mr. Kochman oversees and spearheads Ascinsure’s business development goals and overall operations within its Specialty Wholesale & Underwriting Insurance markets. Prior to his appointment at Ascinsure, Mr. Kochman was Vice President of Cross-Selling for Highmark, Inc., where he oversaw $3+ billion in sales across four different companies nationally. At Highmark, Mr. Kochman also designed and developed, from a grass roots campaign, a cross-selling culture among all of the Highmark companies. He also championed Highmark’s acquisition and development with LSV (a conglomerate of five different Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans) to sell and distribute life and disability products. Prior to that appointment, he was the National Director of Workers’ Compensation at Highmark Casualty Insurance Company where he was the architect of Highmark Casualty’s Worker Compensation program from the ground up, growing Highmark Casualty into a $60+million dollar Workers’ Compensation insurance carrier . Mr. Kochman built the foundation of his insurance experience working for respected companies such as Marsh & McLennan, where he served as head of the Construction Industry Group by being responsible for direct outside sales and managed the service team. He also worked for Robinson-Conner, Inc. where he served as a Bond Manager and Account Executive by being responsible for maintaining and developing a surety book of business. In 1995, Mr. Kochman created ManagedComp, Inc, an MGA, out of the basement of his home. He eventually grew this entity into a $15 million company where grew, staffed, and managed the complete operation. He has a degree in Applied Business Communications from West Virginia University.
