Chris' practice includes defending clients in toxic tort, environmental, products liability, complex commercial litigation, and professional malpractice cases. He has represented clients in federal and state courts on a variety of product liability matters including those related to product recalls, mass tort litigation, and multidistrict litigation. He has investigated and defended numerous cases and claims involving personal injury or property damage resulting from large-scale explosions, fires, gas leaks, water leaks, and scalds. Chris’ work includes service as national coordinating counsel for various product manufacturers in pattern litigation involving alleged product defects. He has also represented clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters involving electrical, mechanical and chemical products and components.
Chris has defended healthcare providers from various medical and patient care fields, in personal injury claims. He has experience in the areas of workers' compensation law and alcoholic beverage regulatory control.
Chris is a member of the firm's Recruiting Committee for the Richmond office. He serves as a departmental pro bono coordinator in a joint program with local legal aid organizations. While earning his law degree at the University of Virginia School of Law, Chris was the recipient of the Robert K. Bellamy Scholarship. He served on the Board of the William Minor Lile Moot Court Competition and was a member of the Virginia Tax Review.
