Biography
Melissa O’Loughlin White focuses her practice on insurance coverage, bad faith, and claims handling issues in Washington and Oregon from Cozen O’Connor’s Seattle office. She has appellate expertise, participating in and monitoring significant appellate decisions that impact the insurance industry. As a result, she is uniquely qualified to advise insurers about coverage issues and how to avoid extra-contractual exposure. A skilled litigator and an effective negotiator, she is adept at using appellate issues and changes in the law to leverage favorable settlements on behalf of clients who prefer an agreed resolution over contentious litigation. Ms. White is the incoming chair of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers’ amicus curiae committee, a past chair of the King County Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Section, and a past president of King County Washington Women Lawyers.
