Lisa K. Anderson

Biography

Lisa Anderson is licensed to practice law in the States of Michigan, South Carolina, The District of Columbia and Georgia, and in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan and the Northern District of Georgia. She graduated from Converse College in 1989, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Minor in Economics. Lisa earned her Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University in 1994.Lisa has been representing insurance companies and their insureds since her graduation from law school. She has represented insurers in medical recovery actions (including civil RICO and declaratory judgment actions) and has successfully defended clients in mass tort cases and class actions involving explosions, toxic torts, construction and professional liability. Lisa has participated in class action certification hearings and has argued before the Multi-District Litigation Panel in Washington, D.C. Lisa trained at the Centers for Disease Control and the U.S. Armed Forces Central Identification Laboratory in Honolulu, Hawaii.Lisa has also acted as Healthcare Claims Counsel for an international insurance company. In this role, Lisa investigated and oversaw claims brought against doctors, hospitals and nursing homes in the Southeast. She audited hospital claim departments and assisted litigation management in the review and audit of panel law firms.Lisa’s practice includes insurance fraud/special investigations, medical recovery actions, civil RICO actions, first and third party PIP actions, complex defense litigation and insurance coverage matters.Lisa joined Smith Rolfes & Skavdahl in 2014 and is an associate in the Michigan Office.
