Biography

Laura M. Forrest has over 20 years of experience counseling and defending clients in matters related to insurance coverage, construction disputes, and other civil litigation. She focuses her practice on representing insurers in insurance coverage litigation arising under a variety of policies, including commercial general liability, homeowners, automobile, umbrella, and other policies. She also devotes a portion of her practice to representing community and homeowners’ associations through North Carolina, resolving disputes between associations and developers, and educating homeowner’s association board members on evolving legal risks and responsibilities. She also has experience in general liability defense spanning motor vehicle negligence, premises liability, and more. Laura has first-chaired jury and bench trials, argued hundreds of motions, and managed cases from inception through trial.

Laura earned the designation Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP) from Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM) and speaks frequently on a national level with CLM regarding insurance coverage matters and other topics relevant to the insurance industry. In addition to her years in private practice, Laura draws on experience as a former staff attorney with Fulton County, North Carolina, and as a former staff member of the North Carolina National Guard, where she provided soldiers and their families with information regarding family law, consumer law, estate planning/administration, taxes, immigration, landlord/tenant issues, and military law.
