Jorge Santeiro

Biography

As corporate counsel at FCCI, Jorge Santeiro, provides legal support and litigation management to Claims and other internal clients on coverage and other legal and claim handling issues.  In addition, he manages coverage litigation throughout the company's six regions and also creates and conducts training programs on coverage and claim handling practices.

Previously a shareholder in the Tampa office of Kubicki Draper, he maintained a broad civil trial practice throughout West-Central Florida consisting primarily of construction defect, premises liability, auto liability, first party property defense and trucking/transportation. He has first-chaired several dozen cases to verdict.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jorge attended college and law school in Miami. He started his legal career as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer in the United States Air Force, where he tried numerous criminal cases before military courts-martial and as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney before federal magistrates in Nevada and Florida.

In addition to his law practice, Jorge is dedicated to spending time with his wife and two children, all of whom enjoy participating in distance running events throughout the year. He is co-founder of the Lawyers Autism Awareness Foundation, whose mission is to assist low-income Tampa Bay area families with children on the autism spectrum by funding grants for recognized therapies and special schooling.
