Tamara Ashjian

Biography

Tamara Ashjian is Vice President of the Cyber & Professional Lines Group Cyber & Tech  Claims Department at Tokio Marine HCC, a global specialty insurance group.  Tamara oversees and manages the Cyber & Tech Claims team, which focuses on the handling of litigation and claims resulting from cyber and technology  liability incidents, including but not limited to security and privacy breach,  security and privacy liability, regulatory liability, multi-media liability, cyber crime, cyber extortion, technology errors and omissions, and professional liability incidents.  Tamara joined NAS Insurance Services, which was acquired by Tokio Marine HCC in April 2019, as a Claims Manager in April 2016.  Prior to joining NAS/Tokio Marine HCC, Tamara was a Vice President at Ironshore Insurance, where she managed the west coast claims unit for Ironshore Environmental, which included the management of claims resulting from environmental incidents, as well as professional, property and casualty liabilities.  Prior to joining Ironshore in 2010, Tamara was a Vice President of Claims Services at AIG.  She joined AIG’s Excess Claims department as a Claims Analyst in 2004, wherein she was promoted to a Complex Director, handling high exposure bodily injury and property damage matters, before moving on to her role as Vice President of Claims Services.  Before beginning her career in the insurance industry, Ms. Ashjian was a litigation attorney and worked at several defense firms.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts from UCLA and her Juris Doctor from Whittier Law School. She is a member of the State Bars of California, New York, and the District of Columbia.
