Wileen Chick

Biography

Wileen is the Practice Counsel for the Professional Services Group at Aon Risk Services, Northeast, where she advocates claims and coverage related issues on behalf of global, national and regional law, consulting and accounting firm clients.  Wileen’s primary focus is professional liability insurance claims and coverage issues related to various lines of insurance purchased by professional clients.  In her role as divisional counsel, Wileen drafts and negotiates terms and conditions of professional indemnity manuscript insurance policies and endorsements. She also works closely with the divisional account executives to provide value-based consulting services tailored to meet clients’ business and strategic objectives. In addition to managing essential client-focused responsibilities, Wileen also works in conjunction with Aon's Law Department to provide counsel to the business department on U.S. regulatory issues and draft contractual agreements with clients.
Prior to joining Aon, Wileen was counsel for the Private and Not-For-Profit Directors and Officers Management Liability underwriting division in the Office of the General Counsel at ACE Insurance Companies, where she managed the manuscript policy and endorsement drafting process for underwriters. She drafted and negotiated confidentiality, vendor and other business agreements on behalf of underwriters.  Wileen also advised underwriters on insurance regulatory issues and supported the compliance department in maintaining best business practices and ensuring compliance with State regulations. Prior to joining ACE Insurance Companies, Wileen was the Claims Director in the Professional Liability Claims Department at CNA Insurance Company, where she managed complex high exposure professional liability claims against large law firms. She implemented early resolution strategies with outside counsel to settle lawsuits and participated in mediating complex professional liability claims. Wileen started her career in professional liability and insurance at Mendes & Mount LLP, where she focused on insurance and coverage issues arising out of claims against law firms and solo law practitioners.
Wileen graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Law, from Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York. Wileen received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in Brooklyn, New York. She is admitted to practice law in New York
