Biography

The Navigators Insurance Group is a brand of The Hartford Insurance Group which is an international commercial property & casualty specialty insurance company. Mr. Tyler has over 20 years of experience in handling, supervising and managing Primary Casualty claims, with an emphasis in Construction Defect, nationwide. He has handled and managed various claims, including large commercial general liability claims on a primary and excess layer, including claims within large SIRs and wrap policies with a focus on coverage, liability, risk transfer and litigation management.

Prior to Navigators, Mr. Tyler handled claims at Firemen's Fund Insurance Company and was a Senior Claims Analyst then Claims Supervisor at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.  Before becoming a claims handler, Mr. Tyler worked in the construction industry for nearly 20 years, where he worked his way from an unskilled laborer to owning, operating and managing his own construction company.  He is a graduate of California State University at San Marcos, with a BA in Political Science and holds a Graduate level Paralegal Certificate from the University of San Diego.  After College, Mr. Tyler worked as a construction defect paralegal for two years before transitioning into a Claims Professional.
