Dr. G. Steven Baer, a native of northern Illinois, studied his pre-chiropractic education at Illinois State University majoring in biology and chemistry. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, in 1978. Dr. Baer holds board certifications in Occupational Health and Forensic Sciences.
Practicing his entire career in Southwestern Ohio he focused on general chiropractic practice, nutrition, exercise, ergonomic and lifestyle recommendations. He consulted with numerous companies regarding ergonomic and occupational issues. Due to disability he was forced to retire from practice.
In addition to private practice he maintained a forensic chiropractic practice. He served as a Disability Evaluation Panel member for the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, as a consultant to self-insured employers and third party administrators. He also consulted and advised insurance carriers regarding chiropractic utilization. He has also been involved in fraud investigations for the U.S. District attorney, Ohio Attorney General, and other third-party carriers as consultant and expert witness.
He was past-president for the College on Forensic Science through the American Chiropractic Association.
He has lectured throughout his career on varied topics to include chiropractic practice, coding, and chiropractic fraud. Currently Dr. Baer lectures voluntarily to students regarding ethical chiropractic practice.
