Samia H. Nettles is a shareholder in Richardson Plowden in the Charleston office. She focuses her practice in general litigation, construction law, land use and zoning, appellate law, historic preservation law, homeowners' association representation, personal injury litigation, and insurance defense. She has taken numerous cases to trial, obtaining complete defense verdicts in many of them. Ms. Nettles holds law licenses in both South Carolina and Georgia and practices throughout those states.
Before joining Richardson Plowden, Ms. Nettles clerked for The Honorable Deadra L. Jefferson of the Ninth Judicial Circuit and was an associate attorney at the Pritchard & Elliott law firm in Charleston. She has legal experience working in Washington, D.C. and for local South Carolina organizations prior to joining Richardson Plowden.

Board Member, Preservation Society of Charleston. In this role, she aids the Society’s mission to advocate for harmonized and sensitive growth in, and the protection of, historic areas by working on zoning, planning and development issues with the city, as well as local developers, contractors and residents. She also holds a master’s degree in historic preservation and has worked for the Army Corps of Engineers, the National Park Service and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. From 2008 to 2010, Ms. Nettles joined in taking a vital case on the issue of zoning law to the South Carolina Supreme Court. Past President, James L.
