Kristine Rickard

Biography

 
Kristine is responsible for claims, litigation and in her role as General Counsel and Chief Claims Officer for Berkley Management Protection. Before joining Berkley, Kristine served in general counsel roles, and as underwriting counsel for start-up professional liability divisions of insurance carriers. Kristine served as vice president of general liability claim management at Travelers where she was responsible for all general liability field claim offices across the U.S., and as vice president and claims counsel at AXA XL for public and private company directors’ and officers’ liability and employment practices liability claims. Prior to going in-house, Kristine was an insurance coverage attorney for a well-known international law firm and was based in Chicago. Kristine began her career as a professional liability underwriter.
 
Throughout her career, Kristine has developed and implemented claims best practices for claims divisions, overseen third party claims administrators and managed class action litigation. In addition, Kristine has served as counsel to business units for regulatory and compliance matters, policy interpretation and application of policy provisions. Kristine earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her law degree from DePaul University College of Law. Kristine is licensed to practice law in Connecticut, Indiana and Illinois, and maintains her insurance adjuster’s license.
