Christopher Nutt

Biography

Chris Nutt is an associate managing director with Kroll’s Cyber Security practice, based in Reston, Va. With more than 10 years of experience in the government and private sectors, Chris is a leading expert in incident response, forensics analysis and remediation planning. He has conducted numerous complex incident response investigations into high-profile attacks carried out by state-sponsored actors as well as attacks against payment card industry (PCI) information. He has also developed remediation strategies for the federal government, defense industrial base, and Fortune 500 companies.Chris is an experienced instructor, published author, and frequent presenter on information security topics, including security best practices, forensic analysis, and incident response and remediation strategies.Chris joined Kroll after seven years with a leading U.S. cybersecurity firm, where he was most recently responsible for the firm’s incident response service line. Earlier in his career, Chris was a senior analyst with an information technology and engineering defense contractor. Chris also served with the U.S. Marine Corps, where his assignments focused on information system security and incident response investigations.
