Biography

Unwavering, dedicated and bold, Jessica Skarin is a Subrogation and Coverage Attorney who gets things done. She knows that there is no such thing as a “one size fits all” way to handle a file, and has the ability to tailor her work to better suit the needs of the case. Jessica's practice involves large losses of all types including product liability claims, fire and flood damage, and construction defects.  Equipped with a strong “let’s move mountains” work ethic, Jessica works with her colleagues in the industry to go above and beyond every step of the way.

Her practice is built on a strong foundation of hard work and excellence.  Jessica graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies.  She was selected to both Phi Beta Kappa and Lambda Pi Eta.  Later, Jessica earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, from Wake Forest University School of Law.  While in law school, Jessica was the Managing Editor of the Wake Forest Law Review.  She was also a member of the Wake Forest Moot Court Board where she received multiple awards including "Best Oralist" and the "Debbie Parker Service Award."  Prior to joining Butler, Jessica worked as a trial court law clerk for Florida's Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Tampa, Florida, where she was the 2010 recipient of the Chief Judge's "Quality of Excellence" Award.  As a subrogation attorney, Jessica co-authored Chapter 158 entitled “Introduction to Insurance Subrogation” in the New Appleman on Insurance Law Library Edition published by LexisNexis, and has given several presentations regarding various subrogation topics.
