Biography

Katie Jones concentrates her nationwide litigation practice in construction litigation, energy, products liability, professional negligence, premises liability, warehouse legal liability, insurance disputes and commercial litigation.

A portion of Katie’s practice involves the monitoring of general and premises liability matters arising from the oil and gas industry, trucking and transportation, and construction site accidents. Katie also devotes a significant amount of her practice to construction contractors, owners and designers in personal injury cases, property damage suits and construction and design defect cases. She has also successfully defended product manufacturers in high exposure cases involving design and manufacturing issues.

Katie is an experienced trial attorney having tried and litigated cases throughout the United States, including serving as one of the trial attorneys for several London-based insurance companies in the case of Citgo Petroleum Corporation, et al. v. The Babcock & Wilcox Company. In that case, a jury awarded the plaintiffs $387.4 million, the highest jury verdict ever in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois.

Starting in 2008, Katie has been selected by her peers numerous time as Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers®. She is a frequent speaker and lecturer on legal topics covering a wide range of subjects and has made numerous presentations at conferences and training sessions for insurance companies and trade associations.
