Biography

Mr. Cate has broad and extensive experience in design, engineering, and construction.  Mr. Cate is a licensed civil engineer, structural engineer, general contractor and swimming pool contractor.  He has designed, engineered, and constructed a wide and diverse range of projects including single-family residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial projects.  Mr. Cate has particular skill in structural damage assessment and repair protocols.  Using his background in construction and his skills in structural engineering he is able to quickly and efficiently develop scope of repairs, costs, and impacts relating to building damage.Mr. Cate provides expert services in matters relating to design, engineering, and construction of buildings and premises liability issues that arise at both residential and commercial properties. 
 
Mr. Cate is also certified as a mobile crane, overhead crane, tower crane, and rigging inspector.  He is well versed in crane operations and provides expert analysis and investigation of crane accidents.

In addition to his expertise in structural engineering and construction, Mr. Cate is a leading expert in swimming pools and waterparks.  He is nationally certified as an Aquatic Facility Operator and Instructor, has published articles, and provides classroom instruction regarding swimming pool and water attraction design, construction, and operation.  Government Jurisdictions including Health Departments and Building Departments routinely rely on Mr. Cate for consulting and peer review services for swimming pools and water parks.
