While working fulltime and raising a family, Karen attended school at night for many years to obtain an associate degree, bachelor degree and then a law degree in 2003. Her academic achievement and demonstrated persistence in attaining a law degree was recognized by the State of New Jersey Senate through a Resolution passed in 2003. After law school, Karen performed a one year judicial clerkship for the Honorable Mary Eva Colalillo in Camden, New Jersey. Karen joined Mayfield, Turner, O'Mara & Donnelly in 2004, and in October of 2012 became a member and officer of the firm. Karen devotes a considerable portion of her time defending litigated matters involving complex construction defect litigation, premises liability, and construction site and personal injuries arising from motor vehicle accidents. She also has extensive experience handling cases involving contract disputes, coverage disputes, property damage and general negligence. She has successfully defended numerous matters resulting in early dismissal and litigated to verdict complex binding arbitration matters. She practices at the trial and appellate levels in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvainia, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. At the office, Karen oversees the firm's law clerk program and manages attorneys in the firm's various practice areas.
