Robert Laurie

Biography

Robert D. Laurie is a commercial litigator who frequently represents domestic and international insurance companies in disputes concerning insurance coverage determinations, bad faith/extra-contractual claims, reinsurance, life insurance and related financial products. Among other clients, Bob currently serves as regional counsel for an international insurance company in cases involving bad faith/extra-contractual claims. Outside of the insurance market, Bob represents clients in financial services, manufacturing, and life sciences in litigation involving commercial contract disputes, commercial fraud, shareholder and partnership disputes and product liability.

In addition to litigation, Bob advises a clients on the construction and wording of various types of insurance products, including primarily cyber-insurance policies.  Bob also advises non-insurance industry clients on various contract and risk management issues, including lease, license and distribution agreements.

Bob previously served on the Executive Committee of the Insurance Committee of the International Bar Association.  He is also a frequent publisher and speaker on topics relating to commercial litigation and the insurance and reinsurance industry.

Bob has been named a New England Super Lawyer® for 2013-2017 in the practice areas of insurance coverage litigation.
