Teresa is the Director of the Dispute Resolution Program at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law where she teaches mediation advocacy and coaches the international mediation team. A frequent speaker and writer on dispute resolution topics, she has trained attorneys, judges, mediators, arbitrators, physicians, nurse leaders, and law and business students in mediation, negotiation, conflict management and international arbitration in the United States and Europe.
Teresa was named a Top Ten Women ADR Neutral of Illinois in 2015 by her peers and is an Illinois Leading Lawyer in ADR in the categories of international, employment and commercial litigation.
She started her career as a commercial litigator and was a partner at the law firm of Foran & Schultz (f/k/a Foran, Wiss & Schultz). She has been arbitrating, mediating and teaching ADR skills since the 1990s and has mediated and arbitrated hundreds of matters ranging from real estate and business disputes to estate and employment cases.
Teresa is a neutral on a number of panels including the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, ADR Systems of America, National Arbitration and Mediation, the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois Law, Chancery and Probate Division mediation programs, and is a member of the Association of Attorney Mediators. She was named a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London, in 1997, is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Academy of Dispute Resolution and has served as executive director and a panel member for the Chicago International Dispute Resolution Association (CIDRA). She served for many years as a mediator for the Center for Conflict Resolution and is of counsel to the law firm of DeGrand & Wolfe, P.C.
Teresa is also a columnist for the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, writing about ADR issues of interest to attorneys.
