Biography

Mrs. James is a Partner in the Atlanta office. After having received her Bachelors Degree, cum laude, in Criminal Justice from the University of Georgia, Mrs. James then graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law, cum laude, with her J.D. While in law school, she was an active member of the University of Georgia Moot Court Team, a semifinalist in the Interstate Moot Court competition, and a quarter-finalist in the Russell Moot Court competition. In addition, she was on the editorial board and a notes editor for the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law and a pupil in the Chattahoochee Inn of Court.

PRACTICE AREAS

Workers' Compensation

Ms. James represents employers, insurers, self-insureds, and servicing agents in workers’ compensation claims.  She has a vast amount of experience successfully handling all aspects of non-litigated and litigated claims, including cases at the appellate level.

General Liability

Ms. James’ general liability experience includes the defense of numerous premises liability cases ranging from slip and falls to negligent security allegations. She also has extensive experience defending automotive cases. Ms. James’ cases have involved allegations of serious injuries and wrongful death claims. Ms. James’ experience allows her to successfully handle a variety of general liability cases. She works diligently with clients in order to ensure they are defended and their interests are protected.

Professional Negligence / Medical Malpractice

Ms. James is actively involved in the defense of hospitals, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals through the negligence/medical malpractice litigation group.  While Ms. James' practice is primarily litigation based, she also advises her clients to minimize risk and adopt safe practices that are consistent with the safe and effective operation of their medical facility.
