Biography

Rachel manages a diverse  casualty portfolio that includes claims in general liability -- examples include opioids, NDMA, PFAS, glyphosate, construction, product liability, environmental, toxic torts, various Coverage B offenses, municipal liability, and motor vehicle/trucking accidents.  Rachel has 16 years of combined litigation and insurance coverage experience and specializes in complex claims and coverage. Prior to joining Sompo International, Rachel was a Partner at a well known law firm, where she represented and advised insurers in complex insurance coverage litigations as well as in pre-litigation disputes, arbitration, mediations, and settlement negotiations.  She also served as national coordinating counsel and managed outside counsel to achieve effective resolutions of cases.  Rachel additionally led various defense groups concerning the use of electronic discovery databases.  Rachel is a member of CLM's Nuclear Verdicts Task Force, as well as CLM's Claims Counsel Group, as well as a Board Member of CLM's Local NY Chapter - Long Island.  She has also served as faculty and speaker for various DRI Insurance Coverage seminars.  She is also a member of the Insurance Law Committee of DRI, and additionally serves on the Membership Subcommittee of the Association of Professional Insurance Woman (APIW).
