Nicholas Barone

Biography

Nicholas Barone is a Director within EisnerAmper’s Consulting Services Group, based in New York. As a recognized computer forensics expert, Nicholas has managed hundreds of Incident Response, Computer Forensic, PHI, PII and PCI related investigations in the US and globally. Nicholas’s work has been reported in the national media, periodicals and respected Internet Blogs such as the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek and Krebs On Security while in law enforcement and private industry roles. Nicholas uses his hacking expertise and legacy systems knowledge to perform data breach, discovery, investigation, and/or IT Vulnerability Risk and Compromise assessments. He has also worked with a number of America’s Fortune 500 companies across a range of industries in the related fields of Risk Identification and Remediation, IT Audit and Penetration Testing assignments as a former PCI-QSA.
 
Nicholas selected work experience includes:
 
-- Performing hundreds of Data Breach and Computer Forensic Investigations including oral and written expert testimony for the Financial Service, Healthcare, Education, Retail, Entertainment and Oil & Gas industries;
-- Conducting numerous IT Risk Assessments and Remediation activities across a number of industries globally in response to Information Security Incidents;
-- Building and managing several Computer Forensic Labs;
-- Serving as the Director of Forensic Investigations and Audit for Morgan Stanley; and,
-- Co-US patent holder in the field of Threat Risk Data Analytics and Modeling.
 
Nicholas, over his career has lectured nationally on behalf of many organizations. They include IAPP, RIMS, SIFMA, ISACA, IIA, AICPA, ACFE, American Bar Association, American Corporate Counsel Association, American Bankers Association and various state trial attorney associations.
