Starr Taybron

Biography

Starr Taybron is the AVP of IAT Insurance Group’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU). She supervises a team of SIU investigators and analysts that are responsible for conducting the investigation of potential fraudulent insurance acts and supporting the IAT claim and business strategy.  IAT is a privately-held global insurance company, headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, providing a wide range of property and casualty insurance products for individuals and businesses.
 
Ms. Taybron joined IAT in April, 2012 where she began her IAT career as an SIU field investigator. In this role, Ms. Taybron was consistently recognized for her performance in the detection, prevention and prosecution of fraudulent claims. Ms. Taybron worked very closely with IAT Business partners, on a number of corporate fraud initiatives that resulted in favorable impacts to profitability.
 
Starr Taybron began her professional career with the U.S. Marshals Service and relocated to Raleigh, NC.  She worked closely with judges during this role and developed a passion for understanding the motivation behind criminal behavior and decided to pursue a career as a Probation/Parole Officer. Ms. Taybron served 5 years as a Probation/Parole Officer (gang officer, sex offender officer and high school officer) and 3 years as a Chief Probation/Parole Officer where she was responsible for supervising a team of probation officers. She received several promotions during this time and was the youngest person in North Carolina history to be appointed to Chief Probation and Parole Officer.
 
Ms. Taybron grew up in St. Johns, Michigan and is a graduate of Michigan State University where she received her B.A. in Criminal Justice. Ms. Taybron is a Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI), Certified Auto Theft Investigator (CATI) and Fraud Claim Law Specialist (FCLS).
