Biography

Dr. Al-Hamwi leads the Walgreen Co. Health & Safety,  Injury Management, and Liability Intake Programs. Anas  supports the global Walgreens Boots Alliance group to improve population health, safety and liability outcomes. Anas leads the Health & Safety Governance Committee and serves on the Corporate Social Responsibility governance committee.
 
Anas developed an enhanced safety management system focused on prevention and risk mitigation, and designed and implemented an Active Care model that delivers improved access to quality care post-injury while reducing cost. Anas has developed a culture at Walgreens that integrates safety care and advocacy into company processes and procedures, resulting in consistent reduction in team member, customers injuries, and liabilities.

Anas serves on the board of the National Safety Council (NSC), is a fellow of the Claims Litigation Management Society (CLM), and is a member of the Risk Insurance Management Society (RIMS).
 
Anas earned a doctor of medicine degree from Damascus University, Syria, and is a member of the Chicago ALSAC chapter of St. Jude charities.
