Brian Weeks focuses his practice on all aspects of employment law, including discrimination, trade secret, competition, and wage and hour issues. He represents all types and sizes of employers in a variety of employment issues, including employee discipline and termination, workplace investigations, and adherence to federal and state family and medical leave laws.
Brian's practice includes counseling employers on preventative practices by working with them to focus on how to maintain proper and low-risk work environments, training and helping them adapt to legal changes, and ultimately, working to minimize their exposure to litigation or investigation.
Should litigation become necessary, Brian has successfully represented employers in Oregon and Washington in state and federal courts, as well as before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries, and the Washington Human Rights Commission.
To help prevent employer-related labor problems, Brian regularly provides presentations and training seminars to businesses and trade organizations on important employment law issues affecting employers. These training seminars have covered areas such as supervisor and manager training, anti-discrimination and employment leave laws, documenting employee performance and discipline, human resources processes, social media, and worker classification.
