Rebecca is a passionate about construction law and draws on her years of experience working with all different facets of the industry to represent her clients zealously, with a firm understanding of her clients’ legal and business issues. From builders and developers, to homeowner association boards, and other business professionals, Rebecca focuses her civil litigation practice on matters concerning construction law, community association law, products liability, and other complex litigation matters.
Rebecca's experience includes representing builders, developers, and other construction professionals in construction defect, contract and lien disputes. Rebecca also represents and advises homeowners associations and marina associations concerning contract claims, declaratory judgment actions, and breach of fiduciary duty claims. Rebecca also defends product manufacturers and distributors against claims for alleged defects in the design, construction, and marketing of products.
In 2019, Rebecca earned her Certified Litigation Management (CLMP) designation from Litigation Management Institute (LMI) of CLM. Rebecca was recognized by Business North Carolina magazine as part of the magazine’s Legal Elite Program in the fields of Construction Law in 2019-2022 and Appellate Law in 2019-2020. She was also selected by North Carolina Super Lawyers as a Super Lawyer in the field of Construction Litigation in from 2017 to 2022 and was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America from 2016 – 2022.
Rebecca is admitted to practice in North Carolina and Massachusetts. Prior to joining Cranfill Sumner LLP, Rebecca practiced at a firm in Wilmington where her practice focused on construction law and civil litigation.
