Biography
Michael DePetrillo is associate general counsel of Ochsner Health System. Ochsner is the Gulf South’s largest non-profit, academic, multi-specialty healthcare system. Ochsner owns manages and operates over 29 hospitals and 75 health centers with over 1,500 employed physicians and over 20,000 employees. Mr. DePetrillo is responsible for overseeing patient safety, risk management, insurance, medical staff and credentialing issues, and litigation management for the entire system.
Prior to joining Ochsner, Mr. DePetrillo was a partner in the New Orleans office of Jones Walker LLP in the Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group where he focused on commercial litigation in the areas of healthcare, general liability, medical malpractice, real estate and class action defense. A native of New York, Mr. DePetrillo moved to New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina and attended Tulane Law School where he received his juris doctor degree, magna cum laude.
