Justin F. Morgan, Ph.D., is a human factors scientist and accident reconstructionist with Forensic Engineering Technologies. Dr. Morgan has conducted research examining driver behavior and performance, vehicle safety systems and collision avoidance technologies, and vehicle automation for the United States Department of Transportation, state governments, as well as automakers. His recent research includes a study examining driver interaction with automated vehicles, performed in conjunction with General Motors and Google, for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
He has previously served as a research faculty member at Virginia Tech, and as a research scientist with Battelle. He has taught university courses on human performance and human factors, disseminated his research findings in peer-reviewed publications, and serves as a reviewer for professional journals. As a human factors and ergonomics consultant, he applies human performance principles to the forensic evaluation of traffic accidents.
